NEEM OIL - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE  

  • 10 L of water
  • 100 ml of beer or milk
  • 100 ml of Neem oil
  1. Add the beer or milk to warm water (30°C – 40°C). Stir or shake well.
  2. Slowly add the Neem oil, stirring well.
  3. Shake the container and wait for the liquid to settle. If the oil separates from the water, add a little more milk or beer and repeat the process.
  4. Continue stirring or shaking until bubbles form.
  5. While spraying the plants, shake the mixture occasionally.
  6. Use the preparation within 8 hours.
  7. Spray plants only early in the morning or late in the evening (never in direct sunlight).
  8. Make a fresh mixture before each use.
  9. Neem oil may solidify if the temperature drops below 9°C. If this happens, place the bottle in warm water until it returns to liquid form.

Store out of reach of children in a cool, dry, and dark place, away from heat sources and open flames.

Spray the leaves thoroughly, especially on the underside where pests tend to hide. If you have enough insecticide, also spray the soil around the plant.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TREAT CROPS/PLANTS?

  • Preventive Treatment: Apply twice a month with a solution containing 0.5% Neem oil. This should prevent all issues.
  • For Pest Control: Make a solution with 0.5% - 1% Neem oil. For the first application, thoroughly spray plants and the soil around them. If pests show resistance to Neem, increase the Neem concentration in the bio-insecticide and repeat the treatment after 7-10 days.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING NEEM FERTILIZER  

 - NEEM CAKE / POWDER / PELLETS

 

Arable Land:

  • Quantity: Use 200 kg of neem cake per hectare (10,000 m²).
  • Application: Spread the neem cake evenly over the soil before sowing or planting. Then mix it well into the soil using a hoe or plow to ensure even distribution.

Orchard / Olive Grove / Vineyard:

  • Quantity: The recommended application is 300 g per tree.
  • Application: Distribute neem cake evenly around the roots of each plant or across the entire orchard/vineyard. Lightly mix it into the soil and water to promote nutrient absorption.

Flowers / Ornamental Plants / Medicinal Herbs:

  • Quantity: For these types of plants, it is recommended to use 150 kg of neem cake per hectare.
  • Application: Before sowing or planting, spread the neem cake over the soil in the flower bed or area designated for ornamental or medicinal plants. Mix it lightly with the soil.

Garden:

  • Quantity: For garden areas of 100 m², use 4 kg of neem cake twice a year — in the spring before planting and in the fall before frost.
  • Application: Distribute the neem cake evenly over the garden area. Using a hoe or garden rake, lightly mix it into the soil.

After applying neem cake as fertilizer, it is recommended to water the area to encourage the decomposition of the cake and ensure nutrient absorption by plants.

NEEM CAKE / POWDER / PELLETS AND PESTS

Instructions for using neem cake against specific pests:

  • Nematodes:
    • Effect: Neem cake disrupts the life cycle of nematodes, particularly plant-parasitic nematodes that damage plant roots.
    • Application: Before planting, mix neem cake into the soil to reduce nematode presence in the root zone. Neem cake can hinder nematode movement and reduce their ability to infest plants.
  • Larvae:
    • Effect: Neem cake acts as a natural insecticide against larvae of various insects that feed on plants.
    • Application: Prepare a solution of neem cake and spray it on affected plants to specifically target harmful insect larvae. Ensure even coverage of affected areas.
  • Ants:
    • Effect: Neem cake acts as a repellent against ants, disrupting their feeding and movement.
    • Application: Distribute neem cake around ant mounds, entrances, and trails to deter them from the areas you wish to protect. Reapply as needed.
  • Root Weevils:
    • Effect: Neem cake disrupts the feeding and development of root weevils, reducing their population.
    • Application: Spread neem cake around areas susceptible to root weevil attacks, such as vegetable patches or flower beds. You may also mix it into the soil around plants. Reapply as necessary.

Several ways to use neem cake to combat root weevils:

  • Composting: Add neem cake to the compost heap to prevent weevils from appearing and multiplying. Neem cake will repel pests and reduce their presence in the compost.
  • Soil: Before planting, mix neem cake with the soil to reduce the number of weevils in the soil, especially if weevils are problematic in your garden.
  • Mulching: Create a layer of neem cake as mulch around plants. This will repel weevils and limit their access to plant roots.
  • Extract: You can make a neem cake extract by mixing the cake with water and letting it steep for several hours. Then use this liquid to spray plants to repel weevils. This extract may also have fungicidal properties, further aiding in plant protection.

Note: Neem cake will not immediately eliminate all weevils but will act as a natural deterrent. Regular use can help reduce the weevil population over time.

  • Termites:
    • Effect: Neem cake acts as a repellent against termites and disrupts their survival.
    • Application: If you notice signs of termites in wooden structures or soil, apply neem cake directly to the affected areas. You can also crumble the neem cake and place it around the foundations of affected structures or areas where termite activity is observed.
  • Wireworms:
    • Effect: Neem cake acts as a natural insecticide and antifeedant, disrupting the survival and feeding of wireworms.
    • Instructions: Prepare the soil — ensure it is loose and moist.
      • Scatter 100–200 grams of neem cake per square meter of soil.
      • Sow seeds or transplant plants, ensuring root contact with treated soil.
      • Water to activate substances from the neem cake.
      • Repeat application as needed.
  • Cutworm Caterpillars:
    • Effect: Neem cake acts as a natural insecticide against cutworm caterpillars.
    • Instructions: Prepare the soil and remove weeds.
      • Scatter 100–200 grams of neem cake per square meter of soil.
      • Sow seeds or transplant plants, ensuring root contact with treated soil.
      • Water to activate substances from the neem cake.
      • Repeat application as needed.
  • White Grubs and Meadow Gnats:
    • Effect: Neem cake acts as a natural insecticide against white grubs and meadow gnats.
    • Instructions: Prepare soil for planting.
      • Spread neem cake as needed.
      • Sow seeds or transplant plants, then water to activate substances from the neem cake.
      • Monitor for pest presence and reapply as needed.

NEEM CAKE / POWDER / PELLETS SOLUTION:

  1. Take the desired amount of neem cake to use. For example, start with 50 grams or more, depending on the area you plan to treat.
  2. Place the neem cake/powder/pellets in a container or bucket.
  3. Add water to the container in a ratio of 1 part neem cake to 5–10 parts water. For example, if using 50 grams of neem cake, add 500–1000 ml of water. Stir the neem cake and water mixture well, and wait 24 hours to ensure even dissolution.

Application of Solution:

  • If intended as fertilizer, spray it evenly over the soil surface or plants.
  • If intended as a pesticide, use a sprayer and apply the solution to affected plant areas to control pests or diseases.

Note: The concentration of the neem cake solution may vary depending on plant needs and pest severity. Start with a lower concentration and gradually increase if needed.

For pests in soil or plant roots, you can also use neem cake as a soil additive during planting by mixing it into the soil. This helps prevent pest or larvae spread in the root system.
