USE OF NEEM OIL - POPLAR
Using neem oil in poplar can benefit the health of the plant. Neem oil is a natural product obtained from neem seeds (Azadirachta indica), which has antimicrobial, insecticidal and fungicidal properties.
Here are a few ways neem oil can be used to protect poplars:
Neem oil can help control pests that attack poplars, such as aphids, moths, shield moths and other insects. You can make a spray of neem oil and water and spray it on poplar leaves to repel or kill pests.
Neem oil also has fungicidal properties and can help prevent or treat fungal diseases that can affect poplar trees. These include diseases such as leaf rust or powdery mildew.
Disease Protection: Neem oil can also improve the plant's overall resistance to disease. Applying neem oil to the leaves can help the plant to better defend itself against various pathogens.
Stress protection: Neem oil can help the plant better cope with stress caused by drought, extreme temperatures or other conditions that can affect the growth and health of the poplar tree.
Neem oil should be diluted in water before use. A concentration of 0,5% to 2% neem oil with emulgator in water is usually used. This means that you will add 10,5 to 2 ml of neem oil to 100 ml of water.
Mix the diluted mixture thoroughly to ensure even distribution of neem oil in the water. You can spray the mixture on the poplar leaves using a sprayer or syringe. Be sure to cover the leaves and other parts of the plant evenly.
The optimal time of application of neem oil may vary depending on the conditions and the type of problem you are facing. However, it is often applied during the spring and summer months, before major pest or disease problems occur.
For best results, you may need to repeat the application of neem oil every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the needs and problems of the plant.
